Counselling Centre Universities of Bern

Start of studies

We see it as our duty to support you in these early stages, when uncertainties are most likely to arise. Despite successfully navigating through registration, taking on board a whole wealth of information, and perhaps getting to know your way around, you're still bound to have more questions.

But don't worry – you don't have to know everything before the start of the semester! You'll be given a lot of information at the introductory event during the orientation day for first-year students and/or in the first regular classes in your institute. You should therefore try not to miss these. Your institute's academic student counselling service is also an important point of contact, particularly for timetable queries. However, it can also be helpful to talk to other students if you have any questions or uncertainties.

In addition, you can visit us at the Counselling Centre Universities of Bern for a short counselling session during the first week of the semester without making an appointment. After the first week, you can book a one-on-one session with us free of charge.

Experience has shown us that students frequently have questions relating to the following issues, which you'll find detailed information on below.
